“I’m His Political Nightmare” — Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Dares Yahaya Bello

Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has declared that she is not intimidated by former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, describing herself as his “political nightmare.”

The lawmaker made the remarks during a recent appearance on the Mic On Podcast, where she spoke confidently about her political journey and future ambitions.

According to Akpoti-Uduaghan, she has no fear of facing Bello in any electoral contest, insisting that she is ready for any political battle.

“If I decide to run and my name appears on the ballot alongside Yahaya Bello, then it’s a clear ‘bring it on.’ I am not scared of anyone. He’s not my nightmare — I am his,” she said.

Responds to Project Removal Allegations

The senator also addressed claims surrounding the alleged removal of some constituency projects linked to her office. While speaking on the issue, she maintained that she had only raised concerns about projects being taken off without her consent.

“I said someone removed my projects,” she clarified, without naming those responsible.

2027 Ambitions: Senate First, Governorship Uncertain

On her political plans ahead of the 2027 general elections, Akpoti-Uduaghan played down speculation that she is eyeing the Kogi governorship seat.

She explained that her current focus remains on possibly returning to the Senate, stressing that no final decision has been made.

“If I’m alive and healthy by 2027, I may contest for the Senate again. That conversation is ongoing within my party,” she said.

However, she noted that any major political move would depend on consultations with her family, particularly her husband, as well as key stakeholders.

“I need the support of my family first. As for the governorship, I don’t want to speak on that yet,” she added.

Rules Out Defection to APC

The senator also dismissed suggestions that she might defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), making it clear that she has no intention of joining the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Her comments have since sparked reactions across political circles in Kogi State, with supporters and critics closely watching her next move ahead of 2027.
